HISTORY OF THE FACULTY

In 2018, the pharmacy department was created as part of the pediatric faculty. Following that, the faculty of pharmacy was organized by order of the rector Zh. a. Rizaev on July 3, 2020 543/AF, and the Dean of the faculty was named MD, Professor N. M. Shavazi. Pharmacology, biological chemistry, medical chemistry, and clinical pharmacology are the four departments that make up the faculty.

The faculty has a complete academic staff of 51 persons, with 11 (23.4%) of them having a scientific degree: 2 doctors of science (4.3%), and 9 candidates of science (19.1%).

The faculty has 463 students as of November 1, 2020, with 392 on a fee-and-contract basis. Training and training is carried out in line with the criteria of the qualification features of a pharmacist in the direction 5510500 – “pharmacy” in Uzbek, Russian, and English.

The strict observance of academic and labor discipline, the widespread application of advanced pedagogical technologies in the practice of teaching, and the improvement of the quality and effectiveness of teaching at faculty departments are all important aspects of the educational process’s organization.

The rationalization of deans’ work, the introduction of Deputy deans in each field of work, and a complex of measures have allowed us to achieve that student attendance at the faculty as a whole for each semester is not less than 99.5 – 99.7%, and that the qualitative indicator of academic achievement in subjects is 75 – 80 percent, and that these figures are continuing to improve.

Work with gifted students receives a lot of attention; in 2020, over 65 students will be enrolled in the gifted group; they will actively participate in student scientific circles, represent the Institute at Republican Olympiads, give presentations at Institute and Republican scientific conferences, publish papers, and receive diplomas.

Spiritually–educational work

The faculty’s spiritually–educational activity strives to instill strong moral characteristics in pupils via the study of global cultural values, historic traditions, and our people’s rich legacy. I. A. Karimov, the first President of the Republic, pioneered a unique way of life for the people of Uzbekistan, and has since spread it to a number of developed and affluent countries, instilling patriotism and pride in their homeland.

Students spend their free time participating in cultural and mass activities. The faculty’s major tasks include instilling strong moral values in students, encouraging interest in professional activities, emphasizing the need of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and drawing students to Institute cultural events.

Spiritual and educational work is carried out according to a pre-approved schedule, which includes historical dates, national holidays, sports contests, and other events. Internal Affairs agencies, police enforcement agencies, spirituality centers, and other partner groups participate in a variety of gatherings.

Physical education and sports receive a lot of attention. Swimming, tennis, chess, football, basketball, volleyball, national wrestling, martial arts, and athletics are among the sports offered to faculty members through the Institute’s sports complex. They compete in local, regional, and national sporting contests.

Educational and methodological work at the faculty is organized in accordance with educational legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

RESEARCH WORK

The faculty’s scientific activity has always been closely linked to the training of scientific and pedagogical professionals, as well as the needs of practical health care; today, it is focused on solving challenges highlighted by the state program for science and technology development. It’s worth noting that faculty members compete in grant contests to conduct their scientific study.

Over the last two years, the faculty of pharmacy’s departments have successfully defended two candidate theses (PhD): Baykulov Azim and Kholmuradova Dilafruz. More than 186 scientific publications have been published in the last two years, including 102 overseas and 15 pieces in Scopus-indexed journals.

Student scientific society

Students’ participation in the work of student scientific circles is an important component of the educational process at the faculty, which employs over 65 students. The finest works are delegated to interuniversity scientific conferences, from which we get prizes every year, and the materials of their research work are presented yearly at the Institute’s conference of young scientists.
