FACULTY HISTORY
Since 2009, the faculty has been in operation. At the time of the faculty’s founding, Doctor of Medical Sciences Kubaev Saidolim Esirgapovich, the leader of the dental program, was named dean.
Zainiev Sukhrob Sobirovich, a candidate of medical sciences, served as dean from 2012 until 2020.
From 2020 appointed dean of the faculty, candidate of medical sciences Akhmedov Alisher Astanovich. The dean’s office of the Faculty of Dentistry places a premium on maintaining a high level of education in departments, as well as increasing the quality of education and providing students with current education.
Improving the quality and efficiency of higher education institutions through the implementation of international standards for assessing the quality of education and training, as well as a steady increase in admission quotas;
creation of specialized research and experimental laboratories, high-tech centers, and technology parks at universities and research institutes, stimulation of scientific and innovative activities, creation of effective mechanisms for the implementation of scientific and innovative achievements, creation of specialized research and experimental laboratories, high-tech centers, and technology parks at universities and research institutes.
923 students study at the faculty.
The faculty confers the title of “Doctor-dentist” on its graduates. “Therapeutic dentistry,” “Surgical dentistry,” “Orthopedic dentistry,” “Pediatric dentistry,” “Maxillofacial surgery,” and “Orthodontics” will be among the disciplines studied by magistracy and clinical residency students in the future.
SPIRITUAL EDUCATIONAL WORK
The Faculty of Dentistry’s instructional work is focused on encouraging student self-government activities, student employment, arranging support for students’ creative initiative, and encouraging physical culture and a healthy lifestyle.
The creation and organization of work of creative, scientific associations and teams, the unification of students and teachers of interest through the organization of cultural, sports, scientific, and educational events, and the organization of students’ leisure are the main forms of work that implement the main directions of educational activities at the Faculty of Dentistry.
The basic organization of the Youth Union, the student trade union committee, the faculty women’s committee, councils of curators, educational structures of hostels, and student self-government groups are in charge of organizing educational activities at the faculty.
A considerable number of activities were carried out as part of the educational work done at the faculty.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
International, national, and local periodicals have published faculty research.
The faculty scientists’ research is closely linked to the training of scientific and pedagogical staff, as well as the demands of practical health care. On November 17, 2017, the Institute hosted an international scientific and practical conference “Actual issues of modern dentistry.”
More than 300 participants attended the conference, including top dentists from Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, as well as dentists from the Commonwealth of Independent States and the republic, as well as senior dentists from the country’s provinces.
Teachers in the faculty’s departments are hard at work organizing research projects. The faculty works closely with research institutes and centers, as well as educational and medical institutions from across the world.
Within the TIJ, students are also actively involved in research. Scientific circles are used to entice pupils to participate in scientific activity.
WORK WITH TALENT STUDENTS
Creation of a program in the key areas of work with exceptional students, selection and recognition of exceptional young by departmental professors and teachers, and promotion of collaboration with educational institutions in the republic and abroad. Talented students from the faculty participate in a variety of activities around the CIS, the country, and the institute.
Students can participate in scientific circles at any of the faculties. They cover a wide range of topics, giving students the option to specialize in an area that interests them. Students participate in a variety of scientific, theoretical, and practical master courses.
